MIA KNOP JACOBSEN Trio “CLOSER” FEAT: Jeppe Holst – Raphael Jesus Braga

The trio brings together musicians from Denmark and Brazil and presents the current program “CLOSER,” featuring new compositions by Mia Knop Jacobsen, complemented by newly arranged pieces from earlier projects.

Sonically, the ensemble moves within the dynamic field between contemporary songwriting, jazz, and crossover, characterized by delicate harmonic structures and an open, Nordic sound. As the name suggests, the audience is invited to come closer and experience the music with a completely new, intimate touch.

Jacobsen’s music has been described by the media as “a blend of Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush with a Nordic flair” — an apt description of her distinctive combination of lyrical depth and sonic transparency.

A release is planned for 2026, and the concert at Winterjazz offers a wonderful opportunity to present the music in an intimate setting – with great sensitivity and a very distinctive sonic language.
